What Are Nightly Notes?
- They're the opposite of Morning Pages.
- So they're written at night instead of first thing in the morning.
- They are typed instead of handwritten,
- They're public instead of private,
- They're guided by questions instead of flowing freely
- A completed entry consists of six questions and six answers instead of three pages
- Since they are public others are allowed to comment on them
For an interesting variation on daily writing see 100 words.
"To be really great in little things, to be truly noble and heroic in
the insipid details of everyday life, is a virtue so rare as to be worthy
of canonization."
Harriet Beecher Stowe as quoted by Angeles Arrien
in Signs of Life page 63

It is 10:48 pm. I'll explain another day
Fast Fiction Exercise: Write a story about a will.
He burnt it. Threw it out the window, poured - he didn't! yes, he did. He wouldn't have done that. It was important. You can't even write without rethinking what you just wrote a second ago. Leave me alone. I'm telling this.
I saw him. I saw the paper. I'd seen it before. Pink with scalloped edges. Mini. Little bitty paper. The stuff she always wrote on. I'd read it before. She left the houses to the animals and money for them to be treated kindly. She left the art to the children and the food to you. She left me everything else. Not that there is anything else.
Well, here he is. Let's see what he has to say about his having burnt the damn thing.
Daddy did you burn her will?
I threw it out the window and it flew away.
